Home Is Where You Thrive: ICOC Philippines Marks 37 Years

Published

PASAY CITY, Philippines — The International Churches of Christ Philippines Metro Manila will celebrate 37 years of God's faithfulness on Sunday, Aug. 2, with disciples, families, friends and guests gathering at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) Plenary Hall for the Metro Manila Anniversary Worship Service.

Carrying this year's message, "Home Is Where You Thrive," the celebration invites the church to remember God's faithfulness, rejoice in His work today and look ahead with confidence to His continuing mission.

The anniversary is anchored on this year's theme, THRIVE, inspired by Isaiah 44:4 (GNT): "They will thrive like well-watered grass, like willows by streams of water." The passage reminds believers that true flourishing is found in lives deeply rooted in God. As He faithfully sustains His people, they continue to grow in faith, remain steadfast and bear fruit for His glory.

What to Expect

The anniversary worship service will begin with a call to worship led by In Hymn Worship Director Tyrone Ty, followed by congregational worship led by In Hymn throughout the service.

Church elders Bobby and Susan Montealegre will officially welcome the congregation before the communion message by Rommel Casis and the giving message by Benny Sabidong.

Before the preaching of God's Word, the congregation will journey through the church's history with the premiere of the ICOC Philippines 37th Anniversary History Animation—a tribute to God's faithfulness through the generations and the lives He has transformed over the past 37 years.

The centerpiece of the celebration will be the anniversary sermon by ICOC teacher Rolan Monje, who will preach on finding one's true home in God. Centered on the themes of ownership, access and togetherness, the message will encourage disciples to embrace the security, belonging and purpose found in God's household.

The service will also feature Faith Stories—three powerful accounts of God's transforming work in the lives of His people. Darling Bagacina will share a story of healing, Jebeth Sardila will speak about restoration, and Pam Oliva will recount her journey of finding belonging within God's family.

Following the message, Edwin Vertudez will lead the congregation in responding to the message and share important church updates. The service will conclude with a closing prayer led by Mico Presto, followed by a joyful celebration through worship in singing led by In Hymn and worship in dance by the D4G Dance Ministry, together with disciples from across Metro Manila.

Prepare for Worship

To help the congregation prepare their hearts for the celebration, the official ICOC PH 37th Anniversary Playlist is now available on Spotify.
