ICOC Philippines Metro Manila at 36: REACH — Reach as One, Reach Further with SouthWest

Written by Elijah Cadiente //  Published

It started with a small group and a big faith.

Thirty-six years ago, a few disciples dared to dream that Jesus could be known across the Philippines—not through grand plans, but through everyday lives transformed by love.

That bold faith has since grown into a nationwide movement. And on July 20, 2025, more than 1,250 disciples and guests filled the Makati Coliseum—celebrating what only God could build: a church that keeps reaching, keeps growing, and keeps loving.

This 36th anniversary wasn’t just a look back. It was a reminder of the calling to reach out together and even further.

The call to REACH

This year, ICOC Philippines rallies under the theme REACH, inspired by 2 Corinthians 4:15 (NIV):

"All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God."

The message is clear, and disciples across the country are answering the call to bring the gospel to more lives, one heart at a time.

That’s exactly what the 36th anniversary celebration pointed toward.

From the first note of praise, the church reached out to God in deep, joyful worship, led by In Hymn and D4G.
Tyrone and Edgina Ty welcomed everyone with warmth, and Ver Bacar lifted the gathering in prayer.

Ziel Bernardo shared a powerful testimony of how God met her in her lowest moments and brought healing to her life.

Carlo Bernardo prepared the congregation for communion, reminding everyone of the depth of Christ’s sacrifice.

Ed Calalo followed with a heartfelt message on generosity and gratitude, calling the church to give with faith and a spirit of gratitude.

Reaching as one, reaching further

Naths Zuñiga and Loren Lee delivered the keynote message, urging the church to REACH—united in purpose, and bold in faith.

Reach as one

Naths focused on unity. He acknowledged that it’s not always easy, especially when conflict arises. But through Scripture—Acts 2, 6, 11, and 15—he showed how the early church didn’t give up. They stayed devoted, loved each other deeply, and chose perseverance over division. That’s how they grew.

Reach further

Loren took the message even deeper. He pointed to 2 Corinthians 4:15 and Paul’s example of sacrificial love, giving everything for the church without expecting anything in return. That’s the kind of love that stretches far and wide. That’s how we reach further.

Loren also shared the inspiring story of how unity between church leaders in Ticao and Legazpi led to growth. Seven new churches have already been planted organically, and 24 mission ministries are now active across the country.

"Malawak pa ang Pilipinas," Loren reminded everyone. The mission isn’t done as disciples are called to go farther, together.

A family that celebrates

After the service, sectors gathered for a time of food, fun, and fellowship. Laughter filled the room. Games and performances brought joy. It was more than a celebration—it was a reminder of who we are: one family on a mission.

The Southwest Geo-Region’s anniversary celebration stirred hearts to REACH—and it is not over yet.

Next up: the Northeast Geo-Region celebrated just this Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the UP Bahay ng Alumni in Diliman, Quezon City
